Howdy Swing On In Dance Community, Friends and Family…A big couple of weeks coming up and some of you don’t always see there social media feeds so here is a recap of diary dates you need to know!:

  1.  THIS Friday Night – SWING OUT WITH SWING ON IN – Dance Social.  Here’s the details…

You are ALL invited to listen to the sweet & Swingin Tunes of the 1930’s through to the 1950’s. From Big Band to Jazz to Jump Blues & Swing and everything in between. . ..

Guest DJ’s will be playing all your danceable or just listening favourites.

The dance floor is open to all styles and remember, dancers and NON-dancers alike enjoy tapping their toes at these socials so we encourage you to invite all your friends and family and make a night of it.

The Swing On In Dancers will be sure to entertain you as you eat, drink and enjoy the atmosphere created for you.

All the Details you need to know….
WHERE: Nerang Community Hall, 34 Price Street, Nerang
TIME: 8pm (Doors Open)
BYO: All your refreshments (Water supplied)
COST: Free for Non Dancers, $10pp for everyone else
PARKING: At the rear of the hall

OPTIONAL EXTRA: Meet at the Commercial Hotel on the Corner at 6.30pm for some dinner and catch up / meet and greet with your host Mark Tippett… This is where all the cats go to warm up for the dance!

2. A Very Swellagant Affair Shopping Trip this Saturday 5th November – 11am to 4pm – Brisbane:

Join Miss Chrissy & Ray for a Swellagant Shopping Affair to look for that most smashing outfit to wear to the ball on Saturday 3rd of December! Miss Chrissy will organise vendors to have the right Garb ready for our arrival. We will help you with what works and what doesn’t for you. We’ll then have some afternoon tea and maybe a champas somewhere to finish off the day. EVERYONE welcome.

OK Ladies and Gents, Guys and Gals, … Here’s all the details..

You are all invited and we have some pretty special vendors setting up racks of super stylish clothes for all.. Lots of Gents Fashions and accessories. I suggest we all meet first at the Woolloongabba Antique Centre at 11am and I will take you on a personalised styling tour OR you can just wander and ask for advice if you wish.. no pressure. About 1pm we will head on over to Paddington Antiques where there is some more bargains to be had.

********NB****** I do have a 3rd and very exclusive option BUT I need to know numbers of those definitely coming before I can confirm this one as this lady will go to the trouble of unpacking some awesome vintage finds for us but only if I pre-arrange.. Can we have a show of hands please so I can give her some guidelines???

3.  A Very Swellagant Affair Dink Vouchers

Now the Ball is sold out, it’s time to secure your drink vouchers…  There will be NO CASH BAR  for ALCOHOL on the night.  PRE-SALE vouchers ONLY.. There will be a good selection of good quality Beer, Pre-mix spirits, Red and White wines.  Water and soft drinks will be also available for $2 each (You can purchase these on the night).  You can buy $10 Drink Voucher (2 Drinks)  or $20 (4 drinks) Drink Vouchers.  You will have one drink free upon arrival (included in your ticket) then you need vouchers to get more.  Please email:  [email protected] to buy your vouchers OR you can pick them up at classes or at socials leading up to event on Saturday 3rd of December.

4.  Looking for a Caterer:

We are looking for someone to cater for our A very Swellagant Affair Ball on Saturday 3rd of December.   Budget allows for Supper Catering for 160 people.  Please email or call us to discuss brief and Budget.  Ray:  0408306560 or email:  [email protected]

5.  Christmas Class and Social Schedules:

  •  Monday Night Practice/Socials will continue all through Christmas Period with the exception of Monday 26th of December (Boxing Day) – $5pp – 7.30pm to 9.30pm – Open to all – Nerang Community Hall;
  • Tuesday Nights – Gold Coast Classes:  Last Class which will be 1 lesson then social dancing for the rest of the night will be on Tuesday 13th of December;
  • Wednesday Night – Banaglow Classes:  Last Class which will be 1 lesson then social dancing for the rest of the night will be on Wednesday 14th of December;
  • Thursday Night – Toowoomba Classes:  Last Class which will be 1 lesson then social dancing for the rest of the night will be on Thursday 15th of December. (My Birthday!! – Might have to come out and play!);
  • All classes will resume first week of February;
  • January Social Dance will be announced soon but looking into an afternoon BBQ/dance/social session at a special location and will probably be held on Saturday 7th of January…
